Where will the photoshoot take place?
I offer outdoor shoots mainly in East Sussex and West Sussex. I would possibly consider going further a field, so do get in touch. I also offer indoor photoshoots at a studio in Portslade.
Outdoor shoots can take place at your favourite park or in your own garden.
Alternatively, I can recommend some great outdoor locations. I usually drive around my favourite spots a few days before your session, so I can ensure that we head to the best place for colourful backgrounds that week, whether it be daffodils, bluebells, meadow flowers, lakes, trees, or autumn leaves.
What if it rains?
THE WEATHER!! With outdoor photoshoots, it does mean sessions are dependent on the British weather! So if it’s raining or there is really dark cloud cover, I’m afraid we would need to postpone your shoot and re-arrange an alternative date.
However, there is the scope to weather watch the day before and choose the morning or afternoon depending on the forecast.
Does it need to be sunny?
It may surprise you that the perfect weather for an outdoor shoot is actually when it is slightly cloudy. The sun creates harsh shadows on faces, and a photo of you all squinting is not ideal. So on sunny days, I may need to seek shade under the trees.
Can I bring props?
Defiantly, yes!! Please do bring your child's favourite teddy, toys, books, and instruments. Balloons, bubbles, wicker baskets, and confetti are also great props to bring along if you wish too. We will try to incorporate any props where possible in the photos.
What if my baby/child is ill on the day of the photoshoot?
It’s not a problem; these things sometimes happen. Please get in touch so we can reschedule the photo session for when they are better. I understand how easily little ones pick up bugs.
As much notice as possible is appreciated, but I know this isn’t always how it plays out.
My kids don't like having their picture taken?!
It’s not a problem. That’s why we make the photoshoot last the full time so they can get used to me and the camera. By the end, they won't want it to be over!
Will my portrait photographs be in colour or black and white?
Mostly in colour (unless you have asked for a specific black & white photo shoot), but any I feel are best suited will be shown in black & white.
How many photographs will you take?
A lot! Don’t worry, I am not about to show you every single one. After your photoshoot, I will carefully curate the results to show you the best selection of unique photographs.
Can I bring pets?
Yes, please feel free to bring pets, and we will try to incorporate them as much as possible in the shoot.
